Why is this site in any showcase except for other than displaying horrible design techniques? Try opening it up in Opera. Since they didn't add padding:0 when they went margin:0, the WTF becomes obvious. For some reason, all of the text is a background image on the main document, and then sliced up versions of the text are applied on top.
I'm not even impressed by the design itself. Splash pages and a not-so-obvious hot-spot to get to the main content aside, the main background design element reminds me of my monitor before I got it fixed.

Why would anyone open the site in Opera in the first place? If that's something you normally do for <b>shits and giggles</b> then you are bound to be disappointed every day of the week.
This site has a <b>concept</b>, and the concept goes way beyond "tidy code" and semantic dogma. The Web is not always about "The Greater Good." Occasionally people want to be <b>original</b> with their ideas--even if it pisses off the authorities.
Major case of Div and class'isis, inline styles, and horrible table layout complete with spacer gifs on the "Say Hi" page.
Apart from that, it's good :o)
